BREWER – Douglas Alden Stuart II “DJ” has gone home to meet his Heavenly Father May 29, 2012, after suffering a case of bilateral pneumonia.
Doug suffered from medical problems most of his life; it never stopped him from having a good time and doing the things he wanted to do. Doug skateboarded, traveled, drew and played the guitar. He even recorded a musical CD “Sense in December” through the Dream Factory of Maine. He was one of the founders of a non-profit organization named New Empire Apparel, which raised money to help those in need. He was a graphic designer for Caron Signs of Hermon. Doug taught us that it does not matter what life brings as long as you have friends and family around – you can take on the world.
Doug is survived by his mother, Mary Archer Stuart; paternal grandfather, Alden Stuart; maternal grandmother, Arva Jones Archer; aunts and uncles, Sarah and Kevin Sedgwick, Mark and Christy Stuart, Gary and Beth Stuart, Stephen Stuart, Waldo and Beth Archer, and Wesley and Julianne Archer. He is also survived by his cousins, Angela Allen and husband, Craig, Rebecca Sedgwick, Dillan Hasseltine, Logan Stuart, Hollie Hasseltine, Lora Archer, Lane Stuart, Reilly Hasseltine, Kali Archer, Jakob Archer, Ryan Stuart, and Emily Stuart. Doug is survived by a wonderful group of friends. Doug was predeceased by his father, Douglas Alden Stuart I; paternal grandmother, Beth Chadbourne Stuart; and maternal grandfather, Waldo Archer I.
A graveside service with Brian Keezer officiating will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June, 2, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cambridge, as this is where his father and grandmother are buried. Mount Pleasant Cemetery is located east of the village, very high on a hill or ridge on North Dexter Road; GPS: latitude: 45.027N x longitude: – 69.466W. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Doug’s memory to “Air for Ashley,” care of Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp., 360 U.S. Route 1, Suite 300, Scarborough, ME 04074 – please make any checks out to “Air for Ashley;” New Empire Apparel, this fundraiser project will be done by Brian Keezer and Mary Stuart – please make any checks out to Brian Keezer, 74 Main Trail, Hampden, ME 04444 or donate at www.new empireapparel.com/donate.html; or The Dream Factory of Maine, Make a “Critical Sick” Child’s Dream Come True, P.O.
