BELFAST, Maine — A woman who allegedly shattered a pint glass over her ex-boyfriend’s head Wednesday night at a Belfast restaurant finished her evening with a stop at Waldo County Jail.
Toni Joy, 25, of Searsmont was arrested after staff at the eatery called police to report a domestic situation occurring at the restaurant.
When police arrived, they found that Joy had left the bar, but the alleged victim told police they had met to discuss some child custody issues. The couple began to argue, and the argument turned violent, eyewitnesses told police. That’s when Joy reportedly grabbed the man’s pint glass, hitting him over the left side of the head and smashing the glass to pieces.
Officers stopped Joy’s vehicle when she was getting on Route 1.
She was charged with domestic violence assault and was released from jail on bail of $100 cash.

Just because someone is at a ‘BAR” doesn’t mean that they are drinking. They were meeting at a public place where there would be witnesses. In case you haven’t been to Belfast, Rollie’s is hardly a BAR! On any given night there are people of all ages there, infants to the elderly. It was simply a place to meet where there would be plenty of people around. Thanks for the judgements….

Seriously Angel,are you kidding me!I know both of them as well ,i know for a fact this isn’t the first time she acted violently towards him, You are right when you stated it was an abusive relationship..However, SHE WAS the abuser through out that relationship. WHAT the article didn’t mention was she punched him twice in the face and then smashed his head with a glass, there were many witnesses to HER violent behavior. BREAKING POINT is that your excuse for her violent behavior??? $100.00 bail??? that’s an outrage!
