BANGOR, Maine — A 34-year-old Bangor man was arrested early Tuesday morning on a felony crack charge after police were called to an Essex Street residence to remove an unwanted person.

When they arrived at about 1 a.m., officers found Jeremy Ingersoll-Meserve outside the building smoking a cigarette, Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan said Tuesday evening, citing an arrest report.

While working to determine the identities of various people at the residence, officers approached Ingersoll-Meserve, who reportedly told them that he was just visiting, Reagan said.

During a subsequent pat-down, officers asked the suspect to empty his pockets.

Though Ingersoll-Merserve removed most of the items inside them, officers noted that he neglected to remove several small dose-sized plastic baggies containing what Ingersoll-Merserve later admitted was crack cocaine, according to the report.

Police also found needles on his person, Reagan said.

After his arrest on a felony drug possession charge and a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, Ingersoll-Meserve was taken to Penobscot County Jail. He now is out on bail, Reagan said.

Tuesday’s arrest was not the first for Ingersoll-Meserve, according to court listings previously published in the Bangor Daily News.

In February of last year, he was fined $400 for unlawful possession of a scheduled drug and $350 for possession of marijuana. He also was fined $500 for driving without a valid license in 2007, and two years before that was indicted by a Hancock County grand jury on a charge of unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.

Ingersoll-Meserve’s criminal history also includes convictions for driving after the suspension of his driver’s license and attaching false license plates.

  1. I always thought these comments were for the story above. Why do you post random thoughts with no relation? Can’t you at least find an Ed Schult story, whoever that is, to spread your hate of him. Posting like this makes me think you are a fanatic and therefore anything you say, I doubt unless I know it to be true.
