BANGOR, Maine — A Pleasant Point woman, who is barred by court order from consuming alcohol or breaking the law, was arrested last week after she reportedly was drinking, kicked in a hotel room door and then took off with her young child, police say.
Sheena Sockabasin, 27, was caught about 3 a.m. May 28 shortly after leaving Motel 6 on outer Hammond Street, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Tuesday. Hotel staff said she kicked in a door and then left, the sergeant said.
“She was located with her child in the area” of a nearby motel, the sergeant said. “Her 4-year-old son didn’t have any shoes on and it was raining. He wasn’t dressed for the weather.”
Sockabasin was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief for kicking in the hotel room door, and two counts of violating her bail conditions, for drinking and committing a crime, Edwards said.
She was taken to the Penobscot County Jail and later released. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

Let me guess…racist comments?
Several. First and only warning to potential commenters on this story: Racism will not be tolerated. The authors of such comments will be banned. — Andrew Catalina, editor, Digital Desk
Actually there was only one racist comment. The others were to point out the comment and to bring your attention to it as the comment had been allowed on the sight for over 30 minutes.
Hope this doesn’t get me banned for life…
You’re right, you have not earned a ban, guest709. I knocked out that comment and all that referenced it. You are not guilty by association. — Andrew
Thank you BDN for removing racists comments in this story and the headline story.
Maybe the public slapdowns should stay just to show the disdain most of us feel about an offensive comment? Leave their shame public (not that comment, though)? Just a thought…
True but some peole have no shame………
Sad that a four year old child has to live this nightmare.
Was child welfare contacted about the child?
Tough road for the little fella.
Sounds like mom has made some poor choices.
Lots of love and care for him back at the Point.
Hope he gets home safely soon.
Good thing it was illegal for her to break the law.
Imagine what may have happened if she wasnt barred from committing crimes.
Cry for help from Mom.
Ms. Sockabasin, you are much too young to be getting into this kind of crap. Please remember that you have a little boy that needs a Mom. Get some help for what appears to be an issue with alcohol and/or drugs. Please don’t waste your life and ruin your son’s as well. Good luck.
Racism isnt the point when people dont treat their kids right.
Sheena I hope that you get the help needed to express the pain your in duz.
Another child that the state will have to take care of
Wasn’t this person on the road to becoming a model? Now she’s always in police news. So sad. :( children involved too..get yourself back!!
