PORTLAND, Maine — The manager of a Portland pornography store said the shop opened on time Tuesday morning, a day after firefighters battled a small fire that had ignited inside the building’s walls.

Phil Payer, manager of Video Expo on Congress Street, told the Bangor Daily News on Tuesday the fire did not affect the business a second day.

The fire reportedly was called in around 5 p.m. Monday. Portland television station WGME first reported on Monday night that electrical equipment used to power the store’s neon lights shorted out and triggered a flare-up inside the walls.

      1.  The fire was apparently caused by excessive friction out behind the magazine rack

  1. I was driving by that sleaze fest that is  Dave’s Movie Gallery the other day, noticing all of the business at it and wondering what in the world they are really selling in there that is drawing people in.  Given the proliferation of porn on the Internet, it most certainly is not videos.  What is it?
