HUDSON – Emma Stone, 104, the wife of the late Luther Stone, went to be with her Lord and Savior June 7, 2012, at her residence. She was born March 5, 1908, in Passadumkeag, the daughter of Henry and Annette (Bryant) Bates.
Emma taught school in her later years and then worked as a cook at Morrison for a number of years. She was a member of Hudson Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for 44 years. She was a 50-year member of Hudson Grange and past member of the Rebekahs.
Surviving are two sons, George Stone and his wife, Pam, and Luther Stone, all of Hudson; two daughters, Ethel Waite of Corinth and Verna Stone of Hudson; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Hudson Cemetery with the Rev. Garnett Chute officiating. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Hudson Baptist Church with Pastor Garnett Chute officiating. Please visit
