PENOBSCOT – Beverly J. Reynolds, 80, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Penobscot Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 22, 1931, in Penobscot, the daughter of Lawrence and Regina (Hutchins) Bridges.

Beverly worked for Penobscot Canning Co. when it was open and also a short time for Penobscot Nursing Home. She then became assistant postmaster working under her mother, Regina. In the late 1960s she took over as postmaster until breaking her ankle, which forced her retirement in the 1990s. She was a lifelong resident of Penobscot and loved her home on the Northern Bay.

Beverly is survived by three sons, Larry Reynolds and wife, Freda, of Penobscot, Daniel Reynolds and wife, Donna, of Connecticut and Ken Reynolds and wife, Jerri, of Penobscot; two granddaughters, Jessi and Jody; four grandsons, Ed, Jason, Danny and Brian; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings, Margaret Cook and husband, Russell, of Bucksport, William Bridges and wife, Connie, of Penobscot and Kenneth Bridges and wife, Pat, of Verona Island; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Gary and Peggy Wood of Penobscot, Jimmy Dick of Las Vegas; as well as many other friends. In addition to her parents, Beverly was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Daniel Reynolds; one grandson, Laurence S. Reynolds; as well as good friend, Doug Stover.

Family and friends will gather for visitation 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at Bayview Cemetery, Penobscot.
