ROCKLAND, Maine — A 16-year-old girl was apprehended Friday afternoon and charged in a string of motor vehicle burglaries.
The Thomaston teen was nabbed following a joint investigation by the Rockland and Thomaston police departments, according to Rockland police Detective Sgt. Chris Young. He said five to eight car burglaries occurred in Rockland and a similar number in neighboring Thomaston on Thursday night into Friday morning.
The girl was under the influence of alcohol, Young said. Some items reported stolen from the motor vehicles were found on the teen.
Items taken included cash, loose change, iPods and CDs, Young said.
The girl’s name was not released because she is a juvenile and she has not yet made a court appearance.
In one place it says he was under the influence of alcohol. In another, it says it’s a joint investigation.
Yes, it is a joint investigation- a crime investigated jointly by 2 police forces.

This girl needs a good old fashioned ‘trip to the woodshed’.
I agree. When I was a kid and did something I wasn’t supposed to do, I got my pants dusted off. Seems like today’s generation of some kids dont get disciplined good enough.

If it was an investigation about ” joints” then the State police , Warden Service,MDEA
Sheriffs office and local cops would all be called in.
Along with K9’s ,a chopper and that new Attack Vehicle Portland PD has.
She shouldnt be breaking into cars while drinking, cause she can spill her drink.
That would be alcohol abuse.
