SEARSPORT, Maine — Towers for wind turbines to be erected at eastern Maine’s Bull Hill project are due to arrive in Searsport.
Some of the towers that will support the project’s 19 turbines and blades that will be propelled by the wind are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.
Business leaders and representatives from the project’s owner, First Wind, will be on hand at the Penobscot Bay port for the ship’s arrival. The turbines, blades and other equipment will then be unloaded for transportation to the project site on Bull Hill and Heifer Hill ridges in Hancock County, near Ellsworth.
When it’s completed, the 34 megawatt project will provide energy needs for 18,000 homes.

And where are those homes? Not Hancock county, not even Maine . Those homes are in southern New England. How does it feel to be a plantation?

Another waste of money, time & energy. GREEN just ain’t going to do it folks in the massive amounts needed for this nation. Fossil fuels are, like it or not, what works.
It wouldn’t be bad if that energy stayed in Hancock County and saved money here but it does not. I hope the people in Mass. enjoy our natural resources.

It is a farce, a huge scam of this decade on all us taxpayers.
It cannot do one of the below requirements for electrical production.
These cardinal rules are known thoroughout the utility business.
Dense energy sources are needed to power modernity.
How does Wind meet the criteria every electrical generating source must meet?
Any electric utility must meet the following, well known in the industry to survive.
1.The source must provide large amounts of electrons (it must be dense)
2.The power must be reliable and predictable.
3.The electrons must be dispatchable
(high or low amount must be generated on demand)
4.It must serve one or more grid demand elements(base load, load following and peak
load).
5.The utilization of environment must be minimal and compactness is a must, or it is non-green and damaging the environment.
6.It must be economical
.Bull Hill will fail on all counts.
First Wind will be dead subsidy scamming company after this election cycle.It will leave in its wake rusting hulks and environmental destruction for years to come.
Thank You, Maine DEP and the Expedited Wind law, which should be declared the poorest piece of under the gavel legislation in Maine’s history!

Just think. At this rate we wont be like the TV series Jericho. That is assuming some one rembered to turn them on so we could get power from them.
Energy for 18000 homes in Mass. if the wind is blowing… The wind resource was not even close to the recommended levels , Cadillac Mtn was barely over the mark. Why is nobody checking the fudged data from the met towers?
