SEDGWICK, Maine — A Florida woman crashed into the side of Eggemoggin Country Store after pushing the wrong pedal while trying to park on Friday, police said.
Charlotte Casgrain, 72, of Venice, Fla., was not injured. Her vehicle sustained minor damage, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
The building, however, was not so lucky. According to a press release, Eggemoggin Country Store sustained $7,500 in damage. The store owner was not available for comment.
None of us should make the comments we always see after these unfortunate accidents. We’re all going to get there sooner or later.
I’m glad the woman is fine, and hope that the store is back up an running soon, but every time I hear or see the word “Eggemoggin”, I can’t help but think of “Eggamuffin” from the ‘Mister Roberts Neighborhood’ skit with Bill Murray.
Poor woman. She must feel horrible about this and probably embarrassed out of her mind. I’m sure insurance will take care of the damages and hopefully she can eventually chuckle about this incident.
