NEWBURGH – Roland F. Emery, 86, passed away peacefully June 14, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Roland was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Island Falls, to John and Delia Emery.
Roland worked for Cianbro Corp., where he retired after 30 years of service.
Roland is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Emery of Newburgh; children, Sherry Smith and husband, Doug, of Newburgh, Kim Ross and husband, Allen, of Newburgh, Pam Tagtow and husband, Gary, of Atwater, Minn., Jim Dennison and wife, Brenda, of Jackson, Steven Emery and wife, Caryn, of Smyrna Mills, Linda Dickinson and husband, James, of Oakland and Larry Emery and wife, Maureen, of Newburgh; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine; and two brothers, Daniel and Rodney.
A graveside service celebrating Roland’s life will be held noon Sunday, June 17, at Brookside Cemetery, Chapman Road, Newburgh. Memorial contributions in Roland’s honor may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 U.S. Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
