KITTERY, Maine — A 55-year-old New Hampshire woman is facing charges of stealing more than $29,000 from a Maine business where she worked as a bookkeeper.
Deborah Sterry of Portsmouth is charged with stealing the money from Carl’s Meat Market and Golden Harvest in Kittery.
Foster’s Daily Democrat reports that Sterry is accused of taking the money during a three-month period beginning in February.
She’s charged with theft by unauthorized taking.

Hire locals!
Portsmouth is local to Kittery.
I’m sorry, I guess i missed that article where Portsmouth became part of Maine. They must have settled that border dispute. Take a couple days off and it all goes to he**.
You didn’t say, “Hire Mainers!” or “Hire Kittery residents!”. The owners actually live in Eliot (now that really confuses things). So by your definition of “local”, somebody from Houlton is more local to Kittery than somebody from Portsmouth. You’re not a public school geography teacher by any chance, are you?
I want to be a bookkeeper, they makes LOTS of money! Looks like they get LOTS of time off!
Or just lots of time.
Embezzling from a meat-market? How did they catch her? During a steak-out? The justice system is going to grind her into hamburger.
Funny.
Was she on the lam?
