HOULTON – Maurice W. Blanchette Jr., 69, died June 21, 2012, at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Skowhegan, the son of Maurice W. and Evadene V. (Roy) Blanchette.

Maurice served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a paramedic for the town of Houlton for 24 years. Maurice was a member of Houlton American Legion and a communicant of St. Mary of the Visitation Church.

Maurice is survived by his wife of 29 years, Claudine (Dudley) Blanchette of Houlton; two sons, Edward Blanchette and his wife, Barbara, of Pennsylvania and Donald Blanchette and his wife, Candy, of Massachusetts; three daughters, Robin Blanchette-Hamblen and her husband, Jason, of New Hampshire, Jacqueline Hurely of South Gardiner and Suzanne Fitzpatrick of Houlton; six grandchildren, Jyssica, Danielle, Tyler, Megan, Ian and Georgina; his sister, Carla Webster of Wilton; special friend, Ron Austin; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home with Deacon Al Burleigh officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
