SANGERVILLE – Florence Mae (Gourley) Harrington, 74, died June 24, 2012, in Dover-Foxcroft, after a long illness. She was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Guilford, daughter of Hugh Gourley and Clara (Trafton) Cowette.

Florence worked at Guilford Industries, Dexter Shoe Co., owned and operated Gold Nugget Restaurant and was a caretaker. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Sangerville. Affectionately known as “meme” she was loved by many friends. Meme maintained an open door to her home for anyone who needed a place to stay. Meme’s favorite pastime was having family gatherings and found great enjoyment in having family pictures taken. She will live on in our hearts forever as the loving, compassionate and giving woman that she was.

She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Berlin, Michael and Ardane. Surviving are sisters, Mary Jane Gourley of Waterville and Charlotte Stewart and husband, Glenwood, of Wellington; daughters, Jerilyn Levensalor and husband, Tim, of Sangerville and Lori Welch and husband, Barry, of Newport; sons, Terry Priest and girlfriend, Melissa Smith, of Guilford, Peter Priest and wife, Michelle, of Sangerville and Christopher Priest of Sangerville; and her very special grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who filled her heart with joy.
