DEDHAM – Viola Marie French, 73, passed away peacefully June 25, 2012, surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Blue Hill, the daughter of Walter H. and Sylvia M. (Lundvall) Brown.
Viola spent 25 very enjoyable years working at Brewer Rehab and Living Facility. She enjoyed camping, fishing, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, mowing her lawn on her John Deere tractor, family gatherings and holidays. Viola will be remembered as a dedicated and loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Viola is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, William J. French Sr.; her children: son, William J. French Jr. and his wife, Catherine, and their children, Michelle Graves and her husband, Jeff, William French III and Matthew French; son, Steven E. French and fiancee, Alison Rutan and her children, Ingrid Lake and her husband, Benjamin, and Gyrth Rutan; daughter, Marie L. Smith and her husband, Blake D. Smith III, and their children, Kaila Smith, Jessica Smith and her fiance, Ryan Costain, and Christina Smith and fiance, Brandon Gomm; daughter, Dorothy A. Kehr and her husband, Glenn, and their children, Alisha Savoy and her husband, Steven, and Heather Kehr; sister, Eva Scripture; great-grandchildren, Emma, Hailey, Khloe, Quarra, Grady and Aidan; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Melvin Brown; and a grandson, Michael French.
Private family interment will be at a later date at Central Cemetery, Dedham. Memorial contributions in Viola’s memory may be made to New Hope Hospice, P.O.
