AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine’s first lady is saluting the nation’s military service members and their families as she wishes Mainers a happy Fourth of July.
Filling in for Gov. Paul LePage, Ann LePage says in the weekly radio address that military members put their lives on the line to protect Americans. LePage says it’s because of our troops that we are able to salute the flag on the 4th of July.
In the Democratic response, state Rep. Linda Sanborn of Gorham talks about Thursday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision to uphold the health overhaul law. Sanborn, a retired family physician, says the law ensures hard-working, middle class families will get the security they deserve and protection from the worst insurance company abuses.
Sanborn says the ruling is particularly important for Mainers.

First Lady Ann LePage is a gracious and humble lady who has done much to recognize our military.
I have nothing but respect for the lady! She has to be a gem to put up with him.
I’d be happy to see Mickey Mouse, himself, saluting our troops…anyone but Mr. I-spent-‘Nam-in-Canada.
Where was Daddy ?
Kicki’n back at the Blaine House swillin down a case of Bud?
I was there and we were swiggin Michelob Light. I had to buy though because a case of Michelob was not in the budget.
I would echo Ms. Lepage’s sentiments and thanks to all who have served as we prepare to celebrate our country’s independence……God Bless America!
Worst 1st lady in the states history but she is number 1 for fattest!
