FREEDOM – Austin Jae Grant, 23, died unexpectedly June 29, 2012, in Ellsworth, as a result of a motor vehicle accident on. He was born July 27, 1988, in Belfast, son of Wade A. and Lori (Brown) Grant.

He was a 2006 graduate of Mount View High School. Austin worked in carpentry with his Uncle Ted and recently began lobster fishing with his father. He loved hunting, snowmobiling and had a great time ice fishing. He enjoyed stock car racing, music, and loved detailing his truck and keeping everything “just right.” Austin loved his family, his friends and his Mom.

He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Linda Dixon of Thorndike and Dell Dixon of Freedom; his paternal grandparents, Nancy and Fred Grant of Stockton Springs; his mother, Lori Grant and Ron Nason of Unity; his father, Wade Grant and Monica of Gouldsboro; his stepgrandparents, Ralph and Nancy Nason; his siblings, Tanner Talbot, Seth Talbot and Bailie Nason, all of Unity; his aunts and uncles, Ted and Lisa Reynolds, Tim and Sue Ferreira, Fred and Callie Grant, and Perry Grant; his cousins, Taylor, Halle, Dustin, Lincoln, Lindsay, Alan Jr., Nicholas and Hannah; his girlfriend, Kayla Ingraham; and his best friends, Ben Littlefield, Codey Wood, Jake Horton, Dale Higgins, Dustin Fowler, Chad Dow and Kenneth Thomas.
