HARRINGTON – Sue Carol (Mealey) Leighton, 63, passed away June 29, 2012, at her home with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 15, 1949, in Eastport, the daughter of Joseph S. and Hilda B. (Clark) Mealey.
She was a graduate of Shead High School, class of 1967. She was a member of Pythian Sister of Eastport. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, summer days on her back deck with her flowers, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Carroll Mealey. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Karl S. Leighton; one son, Mark and his wife, Marilyn; three grandchildren, Allen and wife, Sheila, Michael and wife, Dawn-Marie, and Jeffrey; and three great-grandchildren, Cody, Mason and Rylee.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Hillside Cemetery, Eastport.
