BANGOR, Maine — A local man who police say was causing issues with patrons at the Penobscot Pour House was arrested Friday night when he threatened authorities.

Brandy Laws, 37, was asked to leave the bar around 9 p.m., according to a news release from Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.

When Officer Josh Kuhn arrived and spoke to bar staff, they reported Laws had been “threatening and disorderly and causing issues with other customers,” according to Edwards.

When Kuhn asked to interview Laws outside the bar, the suspect grew argumentative and threatened a waitress and a security door man, the sergeant said.

“When Laws threatened the doorman he added he would also do harm to the officer and took a threatening stance,” Edwards said.

When Kuhn tried to take Laws into custody, he cocked his arms in a threatening manner, Edwards said. Kuhn brought Laws to the ground, and although he attempted to break free Laws was handcuffed with the bouncer aiding the officer, Edwards said.

Laws was booked into the Penobscot County Jail on charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and refusing to submit to arrest.

  1. Good to see plain old drunks being disorderly instead of always being bathsalts and oxycodone!

  2. Did he slip and fall? Another with face injuries. My Dad was a bouncer  back in the 40’s and 50’s.. He always said hit a drunk in the belly and they go down quick.
    My Father was a good Catholic and didn’t drink himself. I think he enjoyed being a bouncer. (-;

  3. That dosen’t look like it went to well for ya’  buddy…….Try drinking at home next time alone ?

    1. By the looks of it, he had a “Blemish remover commercial” he was getting ready for ? or

  4. LOL at his “poor me” emo face.

    PS I went to Voc-Ed w/ this kid in high school and his mouth was always bigger than his heart. Go figure.

  5. Looks like he “fell down” a couple of times on the way to the cruiser.

    Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
