BANGOR, Maine — A local woman who led police on an Independence Day foot pursuit through a McDonald’s is facing a felony charge, according to police.
Nicole Welch, 30, was traveling down Main Street just after 5 p.m. Wednesday when Bangor police Officer Jason Linkletter observed studded snow tires on her van, according to Sgt. Paul Edwards.
When Linkletter activated the lights on his cruiser, Welch sped onto Sydney Street and into the back parking lot of McDonald’s, Edwards said.
Linkletter pursued the suspect into the restaurant’s front door, at which point Welch took off running out the back door, through the parking lot and up a small hill before surrendering, the sergeant said.
A subsequent interview with Welch determined that her license had been revoked, and she was arrested and charged with operating after revocation, a Class C felony. She was also cited for operating a motor vehicle with studded tires out of season, Edwards said.
Welch was booked into Penobscot County Jail, where she remained Thursday morning.

Hmmmmm-Doesnt seem to make much sense to me!
“….determined that Linkletter’s license had been revoked….” whose license had been revoked?
Would you like cheese on that?
Linkletter’s license had been revoked <—BDN, He is the officer!!
Unreal isn’t it?
No worse than a cop driving under the influence. :P
Good Point!
Cops don’t need no stinkin’ license….
I will never understand why they try to run, in this day and age where do they think they are going? Run the plates and wait at your house, duh. Now you’re in more trouble for running…
maybe she wanted one last nasty burger before she went to jail
want fries with that?
I was at McDonalds ordering my food, when this happened. She ran in one door and out the other, followed by the Bangor Police.
Seems to me that if you are going to break the law and drive after suspension you would at least do everything you can not to get caught……snow tires in July will always bring you attention…..another world’s dumbest criminal…..
