OLD TOWN – Eleanor Ruth Geroux, 81, entered the pearly gates July 3, 2012, from an Orono health care facility. She was born Nov. 17, 1930, in Dyer Brook, the daughter of Theodore and Ruth Gerrish.
Eleanor was the widow of Phillip “Bud” Geroux, and had no children of her own. Her siblings are either deceased or in unknown places and so she was alone in this world as far as blood kin. But, “God setteth the solitary in families,” and so Faith Baptist Church, Orono, became Eleanor’s family, of which she was a faithful member for many years.
There will be no visitation time before the funeral services, which will be held 9 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Faith Baptist Church, 160 Forest Ave., Orono, with Pastor David Natale officiating. Interment will be at Dyer Brook Cemetery, Dyer Brook. A service of Brookings-Smith, Orono Chapel.
