EDMUNDS – Clyde E. Noyes Jr., 79, died unexpectedly July 6, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Aug. 27, 1932, in Danvers, Mass., son of Clyde E. Noyes Sr. and Lydia M. Getchell of Danforth.
Clyde graduated from Danforth High School, class of 1949. After graduation he worked peeling pulpwood before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He served for four years as a crew chief and was honorably discharged in 1955. After serving his country, he settled down in Topsfield having married the love of his life, Barbara Lee. Clyde and Barbara were married 55 years in June 2012 and had six children. His entire professional life, Clyde worked for the public good. After the U.S. Air Force, he accepted employment with Inland Fish and Wildlife Service as a Maine state game warden starting in 1956. He served for 20-plus years, retiring at the rank of inspector warden. Adding to public service, he worked for 10 years as a park ranger at Cobscook Bay State Park. Clyde had two main passions in his life, his family and the great outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and trap, often sharing his time and stories with family and friends. He was an airman, warden, ranger, mason, carpenter, husband, grandfather, father, uncle, brother and a true friend.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Archie, Amos and Harland; and sisters, Ardis, Wanda, Clara and Leta. He is survived by his bride, Barbara; brothers, Lloyd and Colby; sisters, Charlene, Ione and Lydia; children: son, Stephen and wife, Darlene, daughter, Cindy Lamond and husband, Ken Lamond, son, Alan and wife, Jeanie, daughter, Renne Look and husband, Mitchell Look, son, Thor and wife, Diana, and son, Todd and wife, Leslee; 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; plus many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay respects and share stories 1-3 p.m. Aug. 4 at Clyde and Barbara’s home in Edmunds. There will be a private interment in Selden set for a later date.
