BANGOR, Maine — A teenage girl is facing an assault charge after she became upset with a woman and punched her late Tuesday morning, according to police.
The 16-year-old, whose name Sgt. Paul Edwards would not disclose because she is a juvenile, grew agitated when the victim wouldn’t take her from Broadway Park to her mother’s workplace.
The girl pulled the victim’s hair and punched her in the face, according to Edwards.
“She basically threw a temper tantrum,” the sergeant said.
The girl was issued a summons for assault but was not arrested, Edwards said. She was released to her parents’ custody.

“Temper tantrum?” It’s “assault” like the summons says.
exactly
It is not “issued a summons.” She was “summoned.”
You sure about that? I’m pretty sure a summons is a legal document issued by a court(a judicial summons) or another administrative government agency (administrative summons), usually to a defendent in a legal proceeding.
Now I hope you wont go and throw a temper tantrum over this.
Or, she was “summonsed” with a summons. It’s a legal term for getting a citation that calls you to court to answer a charge or charges. jayC is correct.
“Summonsed” isn’t a word.
You could say “She was issued a summons…”
Or you could say “She was summoned to appear…”
We don’t know the history of this girl. We don’t know if she has a mental health, autism or Asperger’s diagnosis or any other problem for that matter. The story does not say what relation the person she assaulted has to her and with her. The story also does not say her parents were drugsucking scumbags or upstanding pillars of the community, nor does it state their political leanings.
She is a minor and the police who handled the matter obviously felt that there were circumstances that indicated that the matter be dealt with in the way it was dealt with, and not with an arrest and transport to the local jail, bail and charges. If they felt she was a danger to society they would have taken her in.
We do know that she has a problem with having assaulted someone while having a temper tantrum because of not getting what she wanted. Someone must have felt the situation warranted law enforcement intervention or they would not have been called. No?
temper tantrum?? wow.. Had this been my child (and believe me it wont ever be) I would have ground, punished, and burned all her clothes, and worldly possesions… she would be wearing nothing but white t-shirts, and jeans for the rest of her stay in my house, toys, games computers would be locked up… 16 yr old assaulting an adult?? not gonna happen.. unless the kid is being put in a position where harm could come to them would I ever allow behavior like that.. sorry to say but these parents need a reality check.. “the corner/go to your room” is’nt working..
she is probably a tenant at the Shaw House, this place is sooo good, they teach kids how to be bums on the streets and how to have no goals in life and how to let the system enable them so they will never have to work for a living and how to isolate them from their families. That is what it sound like to me another shaw house kid at it’s finest. They need to shut this place down, they have programs but the kids that stay there are not made to participate go figure.
Can someone explain how or why posts just disappear?
