BANGOR – Lillian C. Fleming, 79, died July 14, 2012, at a hospice house in Florida. She was born July 20, 1932, the daughter of Orlando Dephilipo and Alice Casey Remick.
Lillian was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church, Bangor. She enjoyed politics and worked on the campaigns for Sen. William Cohen and Gov. John Baldacci. Lillian was a member of the Eagles Club as well as an award winning poet and storywriter. Mom will best be remembered for her lively and loving spirit and her innate ability to bring us all together in the end in a loving and peaceful way.
Lillian is survived by her five children with Forest Victor Fleming II, also from Bangor. They are Kathyrn F. Shealy of Greenacres, Fla., Karen L. Divine of Boulder, Colo., Forest “Tex” Fleming and his wife, Marilyn, of Gainesville, Fla., Susan F. Bruder and her husband, Dave, of Dahlonega, Ga., and Michael C. Fleming and his wife, Lenore, of Gainesville, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia “Patty” Racik and her husband, John, of New Jersey.
Relatives and friends are welcome to visit the family and for a viewing 9-11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Bangor House, 174 Main St., Bangor. Lillian was an avid reader and loved spending time organizing the library at the Bangor House.
