WATERVILLE, Maine — Police are investigating a rash of motor vehicle burglaries that took place over the weekend.
The items stolen included iPods, GPS systems, an E-Zpass and two sets of golf clubs, Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said Monday.
Rumsey said one of the sets of clubs was in a white, pink and black Wilson golf bag marked for breast cancer awareness, while another bag has a Patriots logo on it.
“Those were stolen from Ticonic Street,” said Rumsey, who said the combined value of the clubs is $2,700.
“Those are very expensive, hard to replace,” he said. “They do have some distinguishing characteristics to them.”
Rumsey said police took eight complaints between late Friday night and early Sunday morning. The burglaries took place on Prospect, Ticonic, West, Burleigh, Gilman, Cool and Yeaton streets, along with Merryfield Avenue.
Police have no suspects, Rumsey said, and police continue to investigate the incidents. Anyone who may have witnessed any of the burglaries should call Waterville police at 680-4700.
You could put notices everywhere, and people would still not lock their vehicles, or hide property out of sight. I have no sympathy.

Yup, he was just asking for it by leaving that sticker in plain sight! If they want something bad enough they will find a way to steal it.
