ORRINGTON – Robert “Bobby” E. Hackett, 64, passed away July 15, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 8, 1947, in Bangor, son of William and Mary (Goodspeed) Hackett.
Bobby was employed as a refrigeration engineer by R.M. Flagg for many years, and then moved on to do the same job for Shop ‘n Save/Hannaford Brothers. He spent several years out at Pushaw Lake and then Brewer Lake. His passion was fly-fishing, hunting and other outdoor sports. His favorite place to fish was Second West Branch Pond, where he enjoyed many years of great fishing and camping, always taking along his beloved K-9 buddy. Bobby was an amazing father, a beloved brother and kind and giving friend to those he loved.
He is survived by two daughters, Nicole Downing of Bucksport and Jami Downing of Bangor; grandchild, Ciera Downing of Bangor; and two sisters, Nancy Hamilton and Connie Bean Girard, both of Florida.
