LEVANT – Sylvia M. Rowell, 78, wife of Beecher R. Rowell Sr., died unexpectedly July 16, 2012, at her home. She was born Sept. 4, 1933, in Dixmont, daughter of Erman and Pearl (Corey) Shorey.
Sylvia worked various jobs throughout her life. She worked as a waitress; was employed at Sylvania, Bangor; and worked with her husband on their farm and running the vegetable stand. Most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Sylvia also enjoyed bowling and playing cards.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of Levant, are two daughters, Florence Reynolds and husband, Steven, of Levant, and Barbara Charters of Stetson; five grandchildren, Lori Devlin and husband, Josh, of Carmel, Michael Rowell and wife, Lisa, of Levant, Brian Reynolds and wife, Jennifer, of Levant, Todd Reynolds and wife, Karen, of Portland, and Chad Charters and Angel of Stetson; seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Orcutt of Dixmont; one brother, Stanley Shorey of Levant; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two children, Larry Rowell and Beecher “Butch” Rowell Jr.
