PRESQUE ISLE – Melvin A. Beaulieu, 67, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born July 16, 1945, in Van Buren, the son of Arthur and Beatrice (Grivois) Beaulieu.
Mel was a longtime member of Knights of Columbus, Presque Isle. He loved the outdoors, working in his garden, and spending time hunting, fishing and camping at Echo Lake. He always kept a fire going in his wood stove at home, and had the scars to prove it.
Mel is survived by his wife, Ellen (Jordan) Beaulieu; his children, Melvin Beaulieu Jr. and his wife, Mercy, of Secor, Ill., and Jan Clark and her husband, Wally, of Stockholm; his siblings, Linda Ellis, Clarence Beaulieu, David Beaulieu and John Beaulieu; and his grandchildren, Ashlee Beaulieu, Michael Loggans and Walker Clark. In addition to his parents, Mel was predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters.
Friends and family may call 7-8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, and 10-11 a.m. Friday, July 20, at Parish of the Precious Blood St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery after the services. A reception will be held at the K. of C. Hall, Presque Isle, after interment.
