HARTLAND – Norma M. Nutter, 91, died peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Hartland. She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Hamlin Plantation, the daughter of Harold and Leona Emery.

She graduated from Hartland Academy, class of 1939. Norma had been employed throughout the years as a medical secretary, working for Dr. Pierce and Dr. Briggs. She enjoyed square dancing and snowmobiling, and had been a member of Sno-Devils Snowmobile Club, St. Albans, with her husband. She was a wonderful mother and best friend to her daughter and will be sadly missed by her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Lancaster and husband, Frank, of Haines City, Fla.; sister, Hilda Nutter of Hartland; brothers, Harlan Emery and Clyde Emery and wife, Jeanette, all of Hartland; special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friend, Ida Briggs. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William Nutter, in 2005; and her parents.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Village Cemetery, Warren Hill Road, Palmyra, with Julianne Bousquet, Master of Divinity, officiating. A gathering will be held afterward at the home of Hilda Nutter, 61 Pleasant St., Hartland.
