BANGOR, Maine — Police are investigating reports of two dead bodies that were received within two hours on Thursday afternoon.
The first one was reported about 3:45 p.m. at an apartment near downtown, but the age and gender of the person were not released.
“The detectives have it,” Bangor police Sgt. Garry Higgins said Friday morning. “Obviously, it’s still under investigation.”
No details at all were released about the dead body reported at about 5:30 p.m., the sergeant said, referring all calls to detectives. The fact that detectives are handling the cases does not necessarily mean that either death is suspicious, Higgins stressed.
Sgt. Rob Angelo said Friday night that detectives were continuing to investigate the cases and that he wasn’t aware of any new details.

Well, lets hope this is a natural causes case. I just can’t handle the thought of any more young people being lost to this drug fueled mess that has a hold on so many of them.
It is most certainly not just young people who are “lost to this drug fueled mess” unfortunately. I to hope it was natural causes tho, Maine has had far to much violence and drug related crime lately…
I know, just right now, in my life, young people are all around me and so many of them are so lost to it.
just a little weird detectives don’t show up to every death.
Not sure how it is in Maine but in most cities I’ve lived in a Detective has to sign off on it not being a homicide.
You me the medical examiner signs off. Detectives cant sign off on cause of death
Not weird at all. If the cause of death is unknown or suspicious they will show up. More then two people pass away a day in Bangor alone.. There are numerous circumstances that don’t require a full investigation.
three in a week one person identified . i know that person
In others words….Bangor Police is saying…. Screw off we are not telling you anything after last time the paper made assumptions. Good for you police. Give the family of the deceased some time…:)
Careful Washington. The BDN is well known for deleting posts and blocking people that speak the truth. Specially if it makes the paper look bad. The only first amendment freedom of speech you are allowed to use here is that which reflects the local news’ opinions even if it’s wrong.
Where is the Bangor of 20 years ago? It’s turned into such a scary place.
