LEVANT – Perley E. Hustus Jr., 85, died July 17, 2012, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Belfast, the son of Perley E. and Elsie (Sercery) Hustus.
Perley served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Sanborn’s Motor Express after 25 years of service. Perley enjoyed hunting and fishing, but mostly he just loved spending time in his junk yard. “Dad, I’ll miss you my best friend! Love your son, Danny.”
Perley was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Phyllis (Johnson) Hustus; son, Perley Hustus III; and son-in-law, Thomas Barker. He is survived by five children, Glen Hustus of Houston, Bruce Hustus of Hudson, Fla., Linda Barker of Corpus Christi, Texas, Daniel Hustus and his wife, Sherry, of Levant and Donna Hasey of Hermon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Tiff Shuttlesworth, president and founder of Lost Lamb Association, officiating.
