Midcoast, you’ve shown in a few posts that I have seen that you have no clue about our event, and/or some weird disdain for the people of Belfast. An earlier post had you calling us “moonbats” for putting on an event that is based on the heritage of a LOT of local settlers and residents. An event that was conceived by, and continues to be organized by, an all-volunteer staff including some lifelong residents of this area. After the death of the Belfast Bay Festival, heir to the Broiler Festival, we wanted to bring back some sort of community event the city could enjoy and take pride in. After MANY open to the public meetings, the Celtic Celebration was the chosen theme by those who participated in the meetings (and there were a LOT of people speaking their minds back then).
To your denigrating comment about “thousands” of people in attendance, I invite you to stop by to visit me in Belfast and I will show you unrefutable proof there were indeed “thousands”, perhaps as many as 6,000 people who attended over the two day event. Whine all you want, but at least have some facts to support your whining.
