AUGUSTA, Maine — A 33-year-old Massachusetts man awaiting trial on charges of murdering a Readfield man has been charged with assaulting a corrections officer.
David Brian Silva has been charged with assault on an officer, aggravated criminal mischief and terrorizing. An affidavit cited by the Kennebec Journal says Silva hit a guard in the chest with his head on Thursday and told another he was going to kill him before smearing his feces throughout his cell.
Silva is charged with killing Robert Orr, 53, in February 2011 and setting the fire to his Readfield home to cover up the shooting. He’s also charged with stealing Orr’s pickup truck, firearms and other items.
Silva and his girlfriend had been living in Orr’s home for several weeks before the killing.

Guards should have “assisted” him in cleaning the cell by using the guys face to do it.

Murder, arson and auto theft, Silva hit the ‘Big 3’ right out of the gate here in Maine. And given the Ormsby case and the public’s reaction, does Silva think he’s gonna get any less than the ‘max’ out of a Maine Judge ? One thing is for sure. Silva’s girlfriend is gonna be talking, a lot, if she has any smart’s and is looking down the road. And assaulting a C.O. is not going to get him a window seat on the Downeast Express. Now the C.O.’s have a preview of just what this ‘animal’ is capable of and how far he will go. Why do I see the Hannibal Lecter ejector seat in Silva’s future ?
