BANGOR, Maine — A local man is facing a charge of domestic violence assault after throwing a woman to the ground during an argument, according to police.
Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Michael Swenson, 21, of Bangor and the woman, believed to be his girlfriend, have had an ongoing dispute over the last several weeks.
Early Saturday afternoon it escalated, and Swenson threw the woman to the ground at his residence on Ohio Street, the sergeant said Tuesday.
Swenson was arrested and booked into the Penobscot County Jail on a charge of domestic violence assault, a Class D misdemeanor, Edwards said. The woman was not injured in the scuffle.
