Emerge Maine, an organization which inspires and trains Democratic women to seek public office, has picked its seventh class for a six-month training program September through February. They are Tammy Ackerman, Biddeford; Robin Beck, Livermore Falls; Vanessa Bell, Topsham; Christine Burstein, Lincolnville; Nicolle Carbone, Topsham; Diane Denk, Kennebunk; Kristina Egan, Freeport; Diane Gilman, Woolwich; Nicole Golden, Bangor; Ellen Harris-Howard, Lebanon; Bettie Harris-Howard, Lebanon; Katy Jayne, Portland; Dora McCarthy, Bangor; Moira O’Neill, Surry; Gayle Russell, Bryant Pond; Melanie Sachs, Freeport; Donna Searchfield, Ellsworth; Kathy Willette, Portland.

The women will spend six months and more than 70 hours of classroom time learning the ins and outs of running a campaign. They will work with national and local political experts and meet with many of the state’s top political leaders in order to learn what it takes to run a winning campaign.
