ELLSWORTH, Maine — A Bucksport woman was charged with aggravated assault Tuesday after allegedly attacking a fellow inmate in Hancock County Jail.
The attack happened in a cell block common area. The county sheriff’s office said Megan Patten, 22, attacked another female inmate, causing “facial injuries that required medical attention.”
Jail security intervened and separated the women. Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Cote investigated the incident, and said it was unclear what prompted the attack.
“We don’t really know what the fight was about,” he said Friday. “No weapons were involved, but it was a physical assault serious enough to warrant the aggravated assault charge.”
Cote said attacks have happened in the jail before, but they are not common.
Patten has been in jail since July 29 on a charge of failure to appear in court. She is scheduled to appear before Hancock County Superior Court on Sept. 21 on the aggravated assault charge.
Aggravated assault is a Class B crime, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Tozier II is a joke, all they do there is fight & why the town hasn’t shut it down I don’t know but it should be closed!!! It looks like an old horse barn & there’s most usualy an article in there local paper weekly about some fight happening!! Ladies don’t fight like dogs but only at that place!!

You can shut your mouth. My mother has never beaten anyone up, Megan is just seriously messed up. Mom did all she could to try and get her to straighten out, but Meg chose drugs and excuses over doing anything to improve her life. So I suggest to you to not comment on something you know nothing about.
