BANGOR, Maine — Shoppers were left in the dark briefly Monday afternoon by a power outage at the Bangor Mall.

Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. spokeswoman Susan Faloon said the outage, reported at 12:56 p.m., likely was due to a problem with underground equipment.

Power was restored to the mall at 1:24 p.m., according to Faloon.

A mall spokeswoman said there was a fair number of shoppers in the mall when the outage occurred, and that business was back to normal around 2 p.m.

  1. What’s a ‘fair’ number of shoppers?  Bangor Mall….85 degree summer day….weekday….mid-afternoon…I’m guessing there were about 5 people there.  Am I close?

          1. R u serious.  They do background checks, kind of makes me wonder who it is, so i do not take my kid there

  2. The power is out!!!  The power is out!!!  15 whole minutes!!! You must run and tell the King!!!

  3. I lost my power for 4 days straight during a snow storm this past winter.  The BDN reporter never showed up. I want my money back.

  4. I can tell you what… it got me out of work an hour early yesterday.  I work at Wendy’s and we had to tell people left and right that we’re closed because of a power outage… and they just kept coming…
