ADAMS, MASS., AND ISLAND FALLS – ADAMS, Mass., and ISLAND FALLS – Mary Julia “Julie” Birmingham, 90, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, Minn., as a result of a heart attack. She was born June 22, 1922, in Houlton, daughter of the late Roseanna (Burden) Vienneau.
She was married to her first husband, Carl Dunphy, they later divorced, and then met her husband of 40-plus years, the late Howard Birmingham. They had moved to Cheshire, Mass., around 1960, where they lived until retirement. They later went back to Millinocket to live. Later when her husband became disabled, they returned to Adams, Mass., to be close to family. Recently Mary went to live with her son, Daniel Dunphy, in Minnesota. She has been retired for many years. She was employed at Hunter Outdoor, Cecile Industries and CB Sports up until her retirement. She enjoyed working, traveling, trucking, singing, dancing, and being with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Birmingham; daughter, Debra Dunphy; sisters and brothers. Survivors include her son, Daniel Dunphy and wife, Betty; daughter, Kim Wright and Terry McNamara; stepson, Kerry Birmingham and wife, Heidi; stepdaughter, Doreen Fuller and husband, Doug Fuller; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
