FORT KENT – Robertine (Theresa) Babin, 67, died peacefully Aug. 7, 2012, at home surrounded by her family. She was born Jan. 18, 1945, in Fort Kent, daughter of Nelson and Armande (Marquis) Bourgoin.
Robertine loved bingo, knitting, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed life so much, always smiling while meeting patrons where she worked at Shear Perfection as the tanning bed manager for 20 years.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Gilman Babin of Fort Kent; daughter, Connie and her husband, Andy Theriault, of Fort Kent; two sons, Richard and his wife, Melissa, of Fort Kent and Bruce and his wife, Greta, of Fort Kent; four sisters, Carlene Pelletier of Bristol, Conn., Jenny Bernier of Fort Kent, Tina Michaud of Fort Kent and Diane Lagasse of Vassalboro; three brothers, Clinton Bourgoin of Waterville, Leroy and Gary Bourgoin, both of Fort Kent; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her mother, who predeceased her in 2008, she was predeceased by one infant son, Dale, in 1965; and one granddaughter, Tara Babin Hartt, in 2009.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, and 8 a.m. until the time of service Aug. 10 at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal service will be at the parish cemetery.
