Shoes, shoes, shoes.

I’d head to Marden’s as soon as possible if you’re looking for some great deals on hiking boots, winter boots, mountaineering boots and approach shoes by top brands such as Scarpa, La Sportiva, Mammut, UGG, Merrell, Keen, Muck and Bogs.

John Holyoke holds up a Scarpa boot that is 50 percent at Marden’s in Brewer on Aug. 9.

Marden’s currently has more than $1 million worth of quality outdoor footwear. A store in New York City had a construction crew working outside their building and somehow they caused the water to go into the basement of the store, according to a Marden’s advertisement in the BDN. No shoes got wet, but there was enough humidity for the insurance company to pay for the shoes. Now these shoes have made it to Marden’s stores throughout Maine where people can peruse through the footwear, now marked down to 50 percent off retail cost!

Mountaineering boots are 50 percent off at Marden’s in Brewer on Aug. 9.

Outdoor editor John Holyoke, BDN intern and fashionista Katie Day and I went to Marden’s in Brewer to check it out Thursday morning, Aug. 9, and people were swarming the footwear section. So get out there soon if you’re interested.

More photos of the great finds we found at Marden’s on Aug. 9:
