OWLS HEAD, Maine — Residents will gather Aug. 20 to act on a proposed budget of $937,000 and to elect municipal officials.

The proposed municipal budget for 2012-2013 is $937,252, up $267 from the one approved last year by voters at the annual town meeting.

The public works budget for 2012-2013 is proposed at $454,414, down about $34,000.

The general government budget is proposed at $240,047, up about $25,000.

The public safety budget is proposed at $220,291, up about $2,500.

The town will also elect one selectman. The seat held by Richard Carver is up for a vote. Carver said Friday he would seek another term on the board.

Owls Head nominations and voting are done from the floor of the town meeting. The annual meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20 at the town office.
