PORTLAND, Maine — The skeletal remains that were discovered in Portland last weekend are those of a 31-year old homeless woman, according to police.

Portland police Lt. Scott Pelletier said in a statement Friday an autopsy revealed no signs of foul play. A cause of death has not been determined, but state police and medical examiner officials continue to investigate.

Police are not releasing the woman’s name until family members have been notified, according to Pelletier.

The woman’s remains were found Saturday afternoon in Portland by a man picking blueberries. Anyone with information on the case should contact Portland police at 874-8533.
