FARMINGTON, Maine — A Phillips woman is accused of attacking a woman in the checkout line in Walmart on Saturday afternoon.
The victim was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by a NorthStar Emergency Medical Services ambulance, Farmington police secretary Rachel Heseltine said Monday. She was reading from officer Mike Raymond’s report.
Sarah Hanson, 32, was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charge of domestic violence assault, Heseltine said.
Police responded to Walmart at about 12:25 p.m., she said.
Hanson and her husband were at Walmart and she discovered him talking to a woman in the store. Hanson is accused of running up to the other woman and calling her derogatory names before she and her husband left the store, Heseltine said.
Hanson and her husband got into a fight in the parking lot. Hanson went back into the store and found the woman in a checkout line, punched her in the face, knocked her down and continued to kick her, Haseltine said Raymond’s report states.
Hanson turned herself in at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department at about 3:20 p.m., she said.
The victim was treated at the hospital and released Saturday.
Hanson was taken to the Franklin County jail and released the same day on $1,000 cash bail, a corrections officer said.

Don’t be messin’ with HER man!
Bet it was her husband who bailed her out.
Imagine the ramifications if he didn’t! Hell hath no wrath like a scorned woman. Dang. And people say only men abuse their partners.
she didn’t abuse her partner
In a sense, yes she did
Than why did they arrest her for domestic violence assault? Duh!
Foreplay?
That why you use her cool-down period in jail to pack your stuff and leave
nobody is worth going to jail over…
Ah yes – marital bliss
I could have it seen if it was over someone writing a check for their purchases.
When that day comes, they’d better hope I am not the target. My patience with the “me first” types is very thin and if one came at me for writing a check, they’d soon find out that Grandma is far from frail and defenseless.
It’s a good thing those places don’t sell tasers because I’d stand up front and zap people with checkbooks.
What makes your time any better then any one else. It takes very little time to use a check in Wal-mart, about the same time as it dose to use a card. Get over yourself, you maybe the one taking to much time some day.
It doesn’t take the same amount of time. Check writers never have the check started, so they have to dig it out and write out then process it. I use my card and have it swiped before the order is done ringing up.
I don’t want to waste mine or anyone else’s time unless I have too. Taking forever to write a check with a large line behind you is just rude.
its all about me me me me
Last time I checked my time is just as important as everyone else’s.
A person has a RIGHT to write a check at the check out if you don’t like get the store to get people to write it a head of time or get cash regesters in that will print the check . Ive had people write checks at the check out an it NEVER bothered me so you will just half to live with it or shop some were else so chill out
You guys are the ones getting so fired up. Not me. So you chill out.
Last in knew, you just sign the check and hand it over. Machine prints the rest.
Maybe you should just order online from Wallyworld, if you have THIS much trouble functioning in society.
Let me fall to my knees and bask in your glory! You are the perfect human who has never let other people’s action bother them! You are so great! Please tell me how you have never got annoyed at anyone for taking too long to do a simple task. Regale me with tales of how you smile and wave at everyone no matter the situation.
No I just don’t let people irritate me to the point of wanting to zap them *shrug*
And I was totally serious about zapping people for minor irritations….
You mean you werent?…Darn it all, i was just checking Google for Zappers….all i could find was bug Zappers but i am gonna keep looking.
Shhhh i was really serious but don’t tell anyone.
Look under cattle prods ….
I completely agree and sorry, but i wouldnt be moving too fast myself at the checkout if i were only making 7.50 an hour, regardless of whether Wally World says i own part of the company…so we, as customers need to be on the ball and speed the process up just a bit.
I almost never write cks, but when I write one at wal-mart and many other places, all you have to do is hand your ck to the cashier, they slide it, the mechine reads it you sign the screen. done takes about the same amount of time to slide the card.
You just hand the blank check to the cashier and she or he just runs it thru the machine and it scans it and prints the check for you..You just sign on the card reader just like you do for a credit card..No more time at all…
I dont “write” checks at Walmart but do use a check I simply had the check to Walmart cashier and she runs it thru the machine and hands it back to me. Like they do for everyone …Walmart likes it because I don’t cost them a credit card fee and I like it because I can track my business spending easier and have my needed paper trail for the irs.
to each and every person on the planet your time is more valuable to YOU than anyone else s. That’s why I check out at automotive or electronics or jewelry. I personally want to spend as little time waiting in line as possible. You have to proactive about it. if you don’t want to wait behind the jerk who has 40 items in the 20 or less line there are 4 other places other than the front end you can cash out at.
Well you’re simple, so we wouldn’t expect you to find your way through the door anyways.
Wow, that was uncalled for.
Actually its perfectly appropriate. You want to taze people who pay for things using a method you don’t like, I call you ‘simple’. Pretty even exchange if you ask me.
Well I guess I would call you an uptight person who doesn’t understand the light hearted attempt at humor. Or maybe you just don’t get the concept of using an extreme over reacting to a small grip to express your dissatisfaction of the matter, which would make you dull.
-OR- you meant it, and are now doing a 180 based on the reaction to your ‘joke’…
I stand by my “joke”. I am being attacked, thus I am defending my position.
Dont let it bug ya too much Crack, i get attacked on here all the time, and if i actually cared what anyone thinks, i might cry myself to sleep, but since i dont, its kewl…I can dish it out AND take it.
I just find it funny that out of all my salacious comments this one is the one that gets the most attention. Go figure…
You should be zapped for that comment !
do it an it would be called a law suit
Ever been drop-kicked by an old lady, crackuser? You’re overdue.
What a sweet old lady, making threats of violence over a silly joke.
You don’t even have to write anything on checks except for your signature now a days. They run a check through the register and it’s as fast as processing a credit card.
Get the check ready while she is ringing your stuff through, and you will never have that problem…Just sayin
Oh, decided to join the fray, have you? Brave young fellow. I have absolutely no problem because I figured that out years ago and I have everything but the amount already filled out before my things even start getting rung through.
One thing about we “oldsters.” We’ve been around long enough to figure those things out…but cop an attitude and watch how fast we can get “slow and dumb and forgetful and…” Just saying.
As the bumper sticker says, “Old age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill”
Excellent comment, and point well recieved…as i get older, i will certainly have to remember that type of response to those with little patience.
Thank you, Jeff, for your courteous reply. We live in a fast-paced world and I understand how easy it is to get sucked up into a “me first” viewpoint. It becomes a habit after a while. We could all stand to step back, take a deep breath, and ask ourselves, “How important is it that…?”
(fill in the blank)
I dislike the “exact change” crowd, much more. :-)
Only in Walmart – where you can amazing entertainment for free!

Its like the world’s largest open-floor-plan trailer park.
psycho much?
Geezum, if you’re that worried about your man talking to another woman maybe you should find a man you can trust OR work on your own trust issues….just sayin’
This
If you have to beat someone up for him, he ain’t worth it. If you have to go to jail because of this, leave the guy. HE AIN’T WORTH IT!!!!
Or maybe him talking to the other girl was completely harmless, and the guys wife is an insecure jealous low-intelligence type…
It doesn’t matter if she is of low intelligence. If she has to beat someone up and go to jail, LEAVE! He isn’t worth that.
He’s probably thinking the same thing.
I know I know…the guy is always the loser, the girl is always the princess haha
They had left the store, she went back in to beat her up. She didn’t _have_ to beat anyone up…she chose to go back in.
SHES not worth his time.
My point is that no one is worth going to jail for, man or woman.
Had a girlfriend once, so jealous, that she glued all of the bikini pages, of my SI Swimsuit Edition together so i couldnt look at the pictures…Took the last 3.00 we had to our name and bought another one…LOL
You are giving her too much credit.
“Third rate romance, low-rent rendezvous…”
(Amazing Rhythm Aces)
What’s up with all of the crazy crap going on lately around Farmington???
I know – usually its BAngor – which is why I and my family avoid it (Bangor) like the plague! Won’t be spending my hard earned dollars there!
And where may i ask do you live?
Jerry Jerry Jerry!
Clean up on isle 4.
Impulse control issues much? What is wrong with people to think this is the way to deal with their emotions. Woman, get thee to a therapist, STAT!
maybe this women slept with her husband? in that case she does deserved a beat down but the husband more so.(slightly sarcastic)
Well one would think she could have waited until she made it to the parking lot…LOL
For all we know this woman could be pregnant with her husband’s baby or something. I blame the husband. He had to have said something pretty bad to get his wife all worked up. Like maybe he aid he was leacing her to be with this other woman. I don’t condone what she did, but I can’t say I’d blame her too depending on just what the reason was, if it as I said above.
Seriously, why go after the other woman, she isn’t the one messing around on her. (I have no idea what the fight was about. Could be the wife is just jealous and insecure)
because in situations like that no thinks rationally. and you could be right
Wal-mart.
that says it all.
Must have been her husband’s ‘sister’
Can you say “Anger Management”??? Dude, you should have saved yourself 1,000 bucks and left this wacko in jail. While we are at it…RUN, dont walk to get as far away from this nitwit as you possibly can. If she has jealousy issues that are this bad, we might be seeing you on one of the next episodes of “Snapped” if you dont get far away from her NOW
Ayeah!
Too many items in the Express Checkout? If so, I’m glad she stomped this woman!
FUNNY! Sounds like she went back in to pick up a can of Whoop A##!
