BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man was arrested on drug charges early Sunday morning after Bangor police received a complaint about loud music coming from the parking lot behind the former YMCA building.
When the officers arrived, they found a pickup truck “known to the officers because of previous history,” Bangor police Sgt. James Buckley said Monday, citing an arrest report.
The truck’s owner, 51-year-old Steven Fernald, 51, agreed to allow the officers to conduct a search, Buckley said.
When they did, they found white powder that tested positive for one of the components of the synthetic hallucinogenic drug known as bath salts, the prescription drug hydroxyzine, hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia.
Fernald was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a synthetic hallucinogen and unlawful possession of a scheduled drug and taken to Penobscot County Jail.

What do judges call Steven Fernald? ‘Friend’, of course.
Are we sure we know how old 51-year-old Steven Fernald, 51, is?
