NEW BRITAIN, CONN. – Clifton W. McCaleb, 74, passed away Aug. 19, 2012, with family by his side at his sister’s home. He was born May 25, 1938, in Machias, to Roland L. and Eola (Look) McCaleb.
Clifton attended Machias schools and served four years in the U.S. Air Force before his health problems caused him to retire early.
Clifton was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Eola McCaleb; and his brother-in-law, Winfield Grant. He is survived by his six sisters, Helen Gooch of Machias, Jane and her husband, Richard Jordan, of New Britain, Conn., Thursa and her husband, Edward, of Portland, Eleanor Grant of Hampden, Rene and her husband, Robert Julian, of Virginia Beach, Va., Martha and her husband, Charles Dean, of Hampden; many nieces and nephews including his very special niece, Linda Esposito and nephew, Joshua Rosado, who helped take care of him.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 220 Court St., Machias. He will be laid to rest at Masons Bay Cemetery, Jonesport. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, Machias.
