EAGLE LAKE and CARIBOU – Edmond J. Picard, 85, died Aug. 24, 2012, at an Eagle Lake health care center. He was born Jan. 12, 1937, in St. Anne, New Brunswick, a son of Paul and Delphine (Theriault) Picard.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and worked in construction for most of his life.
Edmond is survived by his wife, Lida (Sharp) Picard of Eagle Lake; three sisters, Christine Rossignol and her husband, Fernand, of Van Buren, Marie Lavoie and her husband, Normand, of Meriden, Conn., and Albertine Levesque and her husband, Real, of Southington, Conn.; and two brothers, Nelson Picard and his wife, Muriel, of Windsor Locks, Conn., and Conde Picard and his wife, Ellen, of South Windsor, Conn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Irene (Levesque) Picard; and his brothers, Aurel and Lionel “Blanc” Picard.
There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. Committal service with military honors will be at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. Arrangements are a service of Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
