BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police arrested a 26-year-old local man for assaulting his girlfriend at two different convenience stores in a period of less than a week.
As a result, Brian R. Johnson is facing charges of domestic violence criminal threatening, violation of the conditions of his release and Class C felony domestic violence assault, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Wednesday.
According to Edwards, the first arrest followed an assault that occurred on Aug. 22 at Leadbetter Mini Stop, where Johnson reportedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend of two years. Police caught up with him at his residence and placed him under arrest.
Three days later, police arrested him again, after he allegedly assaulted the same woman at Circle K on Main Street, Edwards said. He was arrested shortly after the assault, when police found him at the corner of Main and Buck streets.
As of Wednesday night, Johnson remained behind bars at Penobscot County Jail, a jail official confirmed.

Sounds like she’ll take him back.I hope she doesn’t. Hopefully he can’t make bail before his trial.
I agree. But since it is Maine, he’s probably already out on $10 bail.
How about keeping him behind bars instead of letting him out now that he has shown a pattern of behavior?
If he does this in public, I shudder to think how he treats his girlfriend in private. He does not even bother to act like a decent guy in public. This is why some states do not give the victims the responsibility for filing charges, but the state presses charges. This character should stay behind bars because he has demonstrated he is not willing to act like a human being even out in public.
It’s clear that this man is agitated by convenience stores.
I am pretty sure that the convenience stores are less than thrilled about him.

I guess one wanted Bud and the other wanted Henikein. lol.
She needs to stop going to convenience stores and this wouldn’t happen.
A twisted ‘manley’ view of how to treat your mate or just a defective machine
Both are plausible….
Assault is grossly under-prosecuted in Maine. The second infraction should warrant mandatory jail time, perhaps 2 years or more. The third assault should be a mandatory 5 years, enough time to think over ones behavior problems. Anything less not going to motivate these people to stop.
This jerk needs a blanket party. These are they type of people who need to have an accident on the way to the jail.
These women who live with violent abusers reunite with them as soon as they are sprung from jail. So rational people throw their hands up and say, “OK lady, have it your way. You must like having your teeth bashed in.”
There are reasons (that lucid people can’t comprehend) why these women go back with their abuser. In the end, it is always fear that keeps them hostage to their abuser. When their abuser warns them what he will do to her and her family members if she thinks she can leave him, she has every reason to believe he will do what he threatens he will do.
