BRADLEY – Maurice R. Guay, 81, died peacefully Aug. 28, 2012, at an Orono health care facility. He was born May 31, 1931, in Bradley, a son of Hector Sr. and Monique (King) Guay.
Maurice was a good natured and easy going man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps before returning to Old Town, where he was employed at the Old Town paper mill for 43 years, and was a member of Local 80 Steelworkers Union.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Claire (McLaughlin) Guay of Bradley; a son, Michael Guay and his wife, Patty, of Old Town; a brother, Hector Guay Jr. and his wife, Alice, of Bradley; nephew, Danny Guay and his wife, Laurie, and their children, Nicole, Julie and Bryan, of Bradley; and niece, Rose Marie Guay of Bradley. He was predeceased by his parents; and a lifelong friend, Paul Smart.
Per Maurice’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be conducted 9:30 a.m. Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, Bradley. Arrangements by Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town.
