MILLINOCKET, Maine — U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud’s office says Navy Secretary Ray Mabus has canceled this weekend’s Maine visit.
Mabus was to attend a ceremony Sunday commemorating the naming of the USNS Millinocket. Michaud’s office gave no reason for the cancellation Saturday.
The Millinocket will be the third Joint High Speed Vessel built to carry personnel and equipment for the Navy, Army and Marines. It’s currently under construction at a shipyard on the Alabama coast.

Hmmmm…..
Hmmmm what 1ofu???? There must be something bad going on here, some kind of conspiracy!!
They decided to name it the Medway instead.
You’re jealous. Maybe the next one will be named “USNS Club La Casa”.
Maybe I was a bit out of line with that remark. I’ll be sure to visit the landfill next time I’m there. Do I need to bring a bunch of dollar bills?
It would appear that Maine’s influence on the House and Senate Armed Service’s and Appropriation’s Committee’s is not what it used to be. Gee, I wonder why ?
More like they did not invite Senator Snowe or Collins, I wonder why
I guess whomever was ahead of it, forgot to deliver invitations to out Federal Senators, for that matter I do not think our State Senator either. So much for decourum, might be a Democratic thing. Maybe BDN should call the Senators offices and check.
I was just reading that these will be manned by civilian mariners and contract mariners. Maybe some cruise line will get the deal.
Navy secretary cancels Mike Michaud’s quiet dedication/reelection ceremony….
Face it, more and more people from Mikes back yard are going to be voting Kevin Raye in November-
Mike has lost touch with his base, and voters want a change
