LINCOLN – Ellery Allen Scott, 85, passed away Aug. 31, 2012, at Colonial Health Care Facility, Lincoln. He was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Hodgdon, the son of Edna (Brown) and Winfield H. Scott.
Ellery was a graduate of Hodgdon High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as a lineman for Houlton Water Co., then moved to Cape Cod, Mass., in 1951 and joined Henry Coffin Electrical Co., Orleans, Mass. Later he was line supervisor for Commonwealth Energy Systems, now known as North Star, on the Cape, retiring after 31 years. He owned a home in Lincoln since 1977 and retired back to Maine in 1983, then lived in Lee more than 10 years before returning to Lincoln. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1578, Hyannis, Mass., for many years.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Virginia A. (Vose) Scott; two sons, Terrence and his wife, Joyce, of Lakeville and Garey and his wife, Linda, of Waltham, Mass.; a daughter, Susan Smart of Enfield; grandchildren, Christopher Plummer and his wife, Jana, of Bangor, Kerri Tardif of Lincoln, Daniel Scott and his wife, Amanda, of Plymouth, Mass., Nathan Scott of Mashpee, Mass., and Katie Scott Clee of Farmington, N.H.; great-grandchildren, Haley Lynn and Brandon Giles Tardif, Kylie Ann and Mykenzie Rae Plummer, Taylor Isabelle and Della Carol Scott, Leila Katie and Gavin Christopher Scott and Zoe Autumn Clee; a brother, Jack Scott and his wife, Betty, of Hodgdon; a half brother, Lewis Scott of Ludlow; a sister, Joan Lindsey of Phoenix City, Ala.; and a stepbrother, Richard Scott of Dalton, Mass. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his special stepmother, Elva Scott; his twin brother, Elwood Scott of Houlton; sisters, Iris Cookson of Howland, Geraldine Oliver of Hodgdon and Phyllis Putnam of Carey; and a stepsister, Betty Frazell of Cape Cod, Mass.
